Reputable journalist Alan Nixon has poured cold water on suggestions that QPR are keen on signing Ipswich Town midfielder Alan Judge.

The R's have been busy in the summer window, signing George Thomas and with two more moves – for Livingston striker Lyndon Dykes and Tottenham midfielder Luke Amos – thought to be close.

It appears one player that they won't be moving for at this time is Judge, who has been linked regularly with the west London club in the past and was someone they were thought to be very interested in last summer.

The Tractor Boys held onto him then and it seems as though the same may happen in the current window as Nixon has poured cold water on suggestions that the R's are interested.

The Irishman made 34 appearances for Ipswich last term – scoring four times and providing five assists – but was unable to help them climb out of League One at the first time of asking.

Judge has shown his quality at Championship level previously, particularly in spells with the R's west London rivals Brentford.

Did these 12 ex-QPR players actually ever score for the club?

The Verdict

Nixon is a reputable source and it appears he's certain that Judge isn't someone QPR are looking to sign right now.

The 31-year-old could have been a very interesting addition, particularly if they could get him back producing the sort of performances he did for the Bees a few years ago.

It appears the R's are going to look elsewhere to make improvements to their squad, however, which is good news for Ipswich.
