The two sides contested the play off final with Fulham taking home the spoils, now the Cottagers are set on also taking home Aston Villa's home-grown hero.

According to Dean Jones, the Bleacher Report's respected 'Football Insider', Fulham are continuing to pursue their interest in Grealish.

Grealish has been reported as a target for Tottenham Hotspur, but they've been put off by the £40m valuation which is some way adrift of the £15m they've allocated to snare the 22-year old.

However, Villa's financial situation is likely to influence any move away from Villa Park. They owe the Inland Revenue £4.2million and had to pay £500,000 recently to fight off a winding up order. £60,000 a week John Terry is off the books, but they still need to address the issues and selling Grealish is one way of doing so.

Reports yesterday suggested that Spurs wouldn't rush to bid for Grealish again, preferring to sit and wait as Villa's cash crisis continues, but any move from Fulham may speed the process up once more.

The Verdict

Grealish to Fulham might not be the move many expected, but if they're willing to come closer to the valuation then perhaps it could happen. Villa need swift business if they're going to kick start their summer, but other clubs know this and will surely wait it out.
