Wolves defender Ethan Ebanks-Landell is attracting the interest of Reading, according to Reading Chronicle journalist Courtney Friday.
The 25-year-old spent last season on loan at Milton Keynes Dons who ended up being relegated from League One in 23rd place.
He was heavily involved in the campaign with 29 league appearances as well as two goals in his loan spell.
Wolves have little need for him considering they are in the Premier League next season, and Nuno Santo was willing to let him leave on loan ahead of their promotion push last season. Therefore, he is likely to be available for a cheap fee.
This would be an odd signing for the Royals because he was hardly impressing in League One last season. Their recent transfer business suggests that they don’t have a large budget because Andy Yiadom, John O’Shea and David Meyler have all been brought in as free agents to strengthen the squad. However, there should be serious doubts about whether Ebanks-Landell is good enough for this level.
Royals fans will be hoping that their business improves in this transfer window because the signs are not promising so far even if they haven’t spent any money in terms of transfer fees. Paul Clement is understandably making the squad his own, but Ebanks-Landell won’t improve on the options they already have.
