Brighton have got their search underway to find Chris Hughton's successor, after the 60-year-old left his role at the Amex Stadium.

Swansea boss, Graham Potter emerged as one of the frontrunners (according to The Argus) to take charge of the Seagulls as they turn their attentions to next year's campaign in the Premier League.

BBC Sport Wales journalist, Dafydd Pritchard revealed that Swansea are bracing themselves for an approach from Brighton to prize Potter with a move away from the club.

Swansea are desperate to keep hold of Potter this summer, after an impressive run of results since the turn of the year saw the Swans rise up the Championship table.

This is Potter's first managerial job in English football and he's evidently made a good impression in his time with the Championship side.

It remains to be seen as to when an official approach will be made for Potter, but it seems as though it will be difficult for the Swans to keep hold of their boss with a Premier League side interested in his services.

The Verdict:

He could be the perfect fit for Brighton.

Potter has been impressive in his first spell in management in English football, and although it would be a gamble for a Premier League side to take a punt on him, the Seagulls must think he's the right man to take them forward.

An interesting few weeks awaits to see whether Swansea can keep hold of Potter.
