According to reports from Yorkshire Evening Post journalist Phil Hay, Leeds United defender Gaetano Berardi has more of a chance of playing in Friday’s clash with Sheffield Wednesday than Kemar Roofe.

The duo have been out of action since the clash against Middlesbrough at the end of August, where Berardi left Elland Road on crutches that night.

The Swiss defender seems to have a good chance of playing on Friday night against Wednesday and, according to Hay, he has more of a chance than Roofe does.

Roofe has netted four times in seven appearances for Leeds this term, and although Tyler Roberts has done well in leading the line for Leeds when called upon, his return is eagerly awaited.

Leeds fell to their first league defeat of the season at the weekend, however remain joint top of the Championship table after a phenomenal start to the campaign.

The Verdict

Even if only one of the duo return to action on Friday night, it’s still a major boost for Leeds who need to recharge their batteries to go on yet another winning run.

The loss against Birmingham was a bit of a shock but if they can learn from it and bounce back it might prove a blessing in disguise.
