A report in Portugal has linked Wolves ace Ruben Neves with a shock move to Liverpool this summer, with Anderson Talisca taking his place.

Respected journalist Marcus Alves claims in a tweet that the deal is being worked upon, with Neves set to enjoy European football at Anfield.

Roughly translated his tweet reads; "Reuben Neves coming to Liverpool. Talisca as a substitute for the Wolves. The pieces are moving in the market."

Neves has been the star turn for Wolves this season, making 36 appearances and scoring six times including a glorious volley against Derby County.

Reports have already surfaced that Wolves are in contact with Brazilian Talisca, the Benfica forward currently on loan at Besiktas. It has not previously been suggested that he would be a replacement for Neves.

The Portuguese player has claimed he wants to remain at Molineux as they look to establish themselves as a Premier League force, but pundit Stan Collymore has already claimed he's good enough to ply his trade at Anfield.

Neves joined Wolves in the summer form Porto for a fee thought to be around £15.8m and has been a key component in their surge to Premier League promotion.

The Verdict

It's all very Premier League isn't it? Tens of millions of pounds spent on exciting foreign talent, swapping one big club for another in the search of success. Wolves won't want to lose Neves but they're in the big league now and will have to get used to the speculation, posturing and big money bids.

Will Neves stay? He's made all the right noises but this is football and yesterday's promises are rarely kept. Loyalty means very little when Champions League football is on the table.
