Nottingham Forest are likely to learn early next week whether they have signed Kamil Grosicki from West Brom.

As has been well-documented, the Reds were keen to bring in the winger earlier this month but it is believed that the paperwork was submitted 21 seconds after the deadline had passed.

Since then, it's been unclear as to what exactly is going on, with Forest in talks with the authorities as they look to get the deal signed off.

So far, there has been no concrete update and the club's lawyers remains in discussions as they seek a final outcome.

And, according to Telegraph reporter John Percy, further developments will be revealed in the coming days.

"Likely to go to arbitration early next week," he responded when asked by a fan for the latest on the situation.

Boss Chris Hughton will be hopeful that he can add the Polish international to his squad as soon as possible, with Forest picking up five points from his first three games.

They are in action next on Wednesday when they face Luton Town.

The verdict

This is an on-going saga and all connected to Forest, West Brom and the player will be hoping for a quick resolution.

It remains to be seen what the decision will be but he would certainly add something to the Forest squad as he is proven at this level and would bring quality down the flanks.

Ultimately though, we will wait to see what happens but the fact the papers were lodged after the deadline doesn't bode well.
