It is only Millwall who have enquired about Barnsley striker Kieffer Moore, according to respected journalist Andy Giddings, amid reports that Bristol City are keen to sign him.

The Daily Mail reported over the weekend that Millwall and Bristol City are both willing to offer £3million for the centre-forward, who scored 17 league goals as Barnsley won promotion to the Championship last season.

However, Giddings, a sports journalist for BBC Sheffield, has delivered an update on Twitter, suggesting that it is only Millwall who have enquired about him and confirming that no bids have been made by any club at this stage.

Moore scored 19 goals for Barnsley in all competitions last season, as Daniel Stendel's side won automatic promotion from League One.

The 26-year-old was a key player for the Tykes, despite missing over two months of the campaign with a serious head injury.

Bristol City were interested in signing Moore back in January, while Millwall have stepped up their interest after seeing strikers Lee Gregory join Stoke City and Steve Morison join Shrewsbury Town on loan.

The Verdict

This would be a superb signing for Millwall. Moore is a fantastic player and has established himself as one of the best strikers in the EFL.

He's already got some experience in the Championship and I think he's more than capable of making an impact in the second tier.

He's strong, powerful and has all the attributes to succeed as a striker in the Championship. It would be a major blow for Barnsley to lose him, but he would be a fantastic signing for Millwall and an ideal replacement for both Gregory and Morrison.

I'm not convinced that moving to either Millwall or Bristol City would be that much of a step up for Moore though and he may want to consider remaining at Oakwell this summer.
