According to Football Insider’s, Dean Jones, Hull City are set to complete the signing of Jon Toral on-loan from Arsenal.

Toral is yet to make an impact in the first-team at Arsenal, spending time out on-loan with various clubs, both in England and abroad.

The 22-year-old midfielder has made 96 senior appearances throughout his career, with all those coming away from the Emirates Stadium, during spells with Brentford, Birmingham City, Granada and Rangers between 2014 and 2017.

Toral’s spells with Brentford and Birmingham both came in the Sky Bet Championship, where he made a combined total of 70 appearances and scored 14 goals for both the Bees and the Blues.

Having spent time on-loan with both Granada and Rangers last season, Toral has returned to Arsenal, but will now link up with Hull, where he will be playing back in the Championship after a year absence.

Leonid Slutsky is looking to strengthen his squad before the end of the summer transfer window, after an inconsistent start to the season has seen Hull pick up just four-points from their opening four fixtures.

Hull are set to be dealt a major blow in the coming days, with Sam Clucas expected to complete his move away from the KCOM Stadium, after the Tigers agreed a deal with Swansea City.

The Verdict

Hull’s revamp is continuing, with one expected to go out and one to come in to Slutsky’s squad.

The number of high-profile departures from the KCOM this summer has had an effect on how the Tigers have performed so far this season, but Slutsky will be confident he can turn things around in East Yorkshire.

Toral has the potential to be an excellent addition, and if he can use his experience previously gained in the Championship, he could be an exciting player.
