Blackburn Rovers have reached an agreement with Manchester City to sign defender, Tosin Adarabioyo on loan for the season according to journalist, Alan Nixon.

Tony Mowbray will be pleased to finally get this deal over the line, as they have had to play the waiting game to complete the deal, as their interest in the defender was first reported earlier this summer.

Adarabioyo spent last season on loan with West Brom, as they narrowly missed out on promotion back into the Premier League.

He made 29 appearances in his time with the Baggies, and was a good option to have in their squad, playing at both full-back and in the heart of the West Brom defence.

But it seems as though he hasn't done enough to impress Pep Guardiola at Manchester City, and the City boss will be hoping he can find himself regular minutes on loan this season with Blackburn.

Rovers will be hoping to improve on their 15th place finish in the Championship next season, and with Adarabioyo in their back line, they'll certainly have a good chance of doing that.

He could be in line to make his debut for Tony Mowbray's side on the opening day of the Championship season, when they take on newly-promoted Charlton Athletic at Ewood Park.

The Verdict:

This is a real coup for Mowbray's side.

Adarabioyo really impressed me with West Brom last season, and is a versatile option to have in any squad as he can play at full-back or in the centre of defence.

I thought that he would be attracting interest from the Premier League this season, so Blackburn will be delighted to get this deal over the line.
