Josh Dasilva has admitted that scoring his first ever senior hat-trick is still yet to 'sink in' after he starred in Brentford's biggest victory in 25 years.

The midfielder has been superb this season, but he's not often known for his goalscoring exploits like he was on Saturday. Dasilva managed to net twice just before half-time, and then completed his hat-trick when Said Benrahma allowed him to convert a penalty late on in the match against Luton.

This was a big moment for the player, and a huge landmark in the season for Brentford as it really is a statement to show that they mean business this season.

Thomas Frank is doing a good job so far this season, and the Bees look like they can beat any side in the division on their day.

Dasilva has expressed that Luton struggled to cope with Brentford and that it still hasn't sunk in that he was able to net a hat-trick.

Speaking to the Ealing Times, Dasilva said: "I’m absolutely buzzing, it hasn’t really sunk in – I’m just delighted to get three goals and help the team

"We were relentless. During the week against Blackburn, we started slowly so it was important for us to start quickly this time.

"Luton struggled to cope and we were clinical. I’m enjoying my football, just trying to help the team as much as I can and get the results."

The Verdict

What a result for Brentford and a quite stunning hat-trick from Dasilva, it was a truly magnificent display and one that will give him the world of confidence heading into the next parts of the season.

Dasilva has been crucial this season, and is really starting to get the credit that he deserves. Brentford look a much different outfit to how they have done in the past.

There is big potential that the Bees can push for a place in the top six, but they must keep up this fine level of consistency.
