Jose Mourinho set to make surprise decision to sort out defensive crisis

Published

on

Jose Mourinho is set to recall Cameron Borthwick-Jackson from his loan spell at Wolverhampton Wanderers amid Manchester United’s injury crisis, according to The Sun.

Eric Bailly limped off against Chelsea and has been ruled out with a long-term injury, joining Antonio Valencia and Phil Jones on the defensive casualty list.

This has apparently prompted Jose Mourinho to consider exercising the recall clause in Borthwick-Jackson’s loan deal with Wolves.

Mourinho is worried about the amount of defensive cover he has at his disposal so he might bring the 19-year-old back to Old Trafford.

Borthwick-Jackson has played just six games during his loan spell at Molineux and he might be farmed out to another club in January if the defensive situation at Manchester United has improved.

The England under-20 international played fourteen games for the Red Devils last year under Louis van Gaal and might make a return to the first team due to the lack of defensive cover available.

Wolves fans – what do you think? Are you disappointed by this news? Would you have played Borthwick-Jackson more? Who could you get to replace him?
