Jose Mourinho’s arrival to Manchester United hasn’t quite gone to plan as of yet.
Mourinho’s first three months of his United reign have presented many issues ahead of the rest of the season.
It is certainly no secret that the Portuguese manager spent around £90million on Paul Pogba in the summer before the season started. That in mind, the United hierarchy may not be so willing to depart with money in January.
There is no doubting the talent within the United squad but have the players on the pitch shown their determination and hunger to play for the badge on their chests? It would appear not at this moment in time.
Perhaps Mourinho is still figuring out his best starting line-up. And, unlike many people within football, I am more than willing to give him the time to get things how he wants them.
Ahead of the January transfer window, Mourinho may look to the Championship to sign players. Where better? The league is full of some of the countries’ best young talents and have the potential to develop into top players over the next few years.
That said, the Red Devils could do with an injection of hunger and energy into their side in the January transfer window and the Championship is a potential place to look. After all, Mourinho signed just four players over the summer.
