Jose Gomes has stated that he wants to see the Madejski Stadium full as Reading prepare to take on Fulham this Tuesday night.

It's a game that the Royals will be desperate to win having failed to record a victory in their last four fixtures.

The Portuguese manager will be hoping that the supporters can encourage Reading after a fairly inconsistent start to the season.

They were able to demolish Cardiff, and have picked up some impressive draws at West Brom and Swansea, but at the same time they've faced lacklustre defeats to sides such as Hull and Blackburn.

Gomes has expressed how his players need patience from the supporters and that he wants the stadium to be packed out on Tuesday night.

Speaking to GetReading, Gomes said: "I would like to see the stadium full. There will be a lot of fans coming from London, but I hope we will be able to hear our fans be louder than theirs.

"Fulham played a day before us [at the weekend], so they have 24 hours more than we do to recover, but our medical staff and fitness coaches will help our players to recover properly.

"I said this after the first defeat and after the new players arrived - we just need to help the players and be patient with them."

The Verdict

Reading need all the help they can get at the moment to try and turn their poor form into some victories. They haven't actually looked that bad in some of the games they've lost but missed chances and individual mistakes are costing them.

It'll be another tough game when Fulham visit the Madejski, and with the attacking threat that the Whites pose, the Royals will have to be at the top of their game to get three points.

If the fans can get behind Reading then they can give anyone in the division a tough game, it'll be interesting but I'm expecting a lot of goals.
