Sheffield Wednesday manager Jos Luhukay is confident his side will bounce back from their hammering at Bristol City on Saturday which made it three Championship defeats in a row.

It leaves the Owls still nervously looking over their shoulder at the relegation zone ahead of two very winnable home games against Ipswich and Bolton in the next week.

Luhukay was quoted the Sheffield Star in saying that three points against the Tractor Boys tomorrow could banish the strong negativity that came about following the embarrassing defeat at Ashton Gate.

OK, the result (at Bristol City) we cannot change that. What we can do is change and be better and maybe in three days we can do better and you can forget very fast what happened. We have the chance to make a new feeling.”

The former Gladbach boss also admitted that a tough run of fixtures hadn’t helped his side, whilst insisting he still has faith in his players.

We see before that they always try 100%. I believe in my team and my players so we must give all we have on Tuesday.”

The Verdict

This is a very positive message from Luhukay considering the Owls just delivered a disgraceful performance on Saturday.

They have a chance to make amends somewhat in the next two games as they represent a great opportunity to get six points.

It’s a huge week for Luhukay and his players because failure to get at least four points could see the pressure really crank up on everyone at the club.
