Sheffield Wednesday manager Jos Luhukay has heaped praise on Queens Park Rangers ahead of their midweek clash.

The Owls boss pointed out the resilience the Rs have gained over recent weeks after a horrific opening four matches of the season.

"They have a good philosophy and it will be hard work to come to three points," Luhukay told his pre-match press conference.

"But we will give 100% to come to a good performance and result."

Luhukay takes his side to Loftus Road on Tuesday night to face Queens Park Rangers and will be hopeful of getting back to winning ways.

A 2-1 loss to Middlesbrough on Friday night stuttered what was a run of one loss in nine matches and had seen them rise into the playoff spots.

QPR, on the other hand, got back to winning ways on Saturday as they saw off Ipswich Town 2-0 at Portman Road thanks to a Dean Gerken own-goal and a Tomer Hemed penalty.

The win pushed them to within just two points of Wednesday and a win in the midweek clash would see them jump above them.

The verdict

Luhukay is right to not underestimate QPR.

Those opening four matches are a long way behind them and a slip up on Tuesday night will see them slump below their opponents.

He needs to put Owls' latest injury news behind him and focus on getting a result.
