Jos Luhukay has urged his misfiring side to be more decisive in their decision making as they enter the business end of a gruelling season.

The Owls are eight points clear of the bottom three, but failed to create chances at the weekend as they drew 1-1 with fellow strugglers Bolton Wanderers.

They've now won just once in 11 matches, scoring nine goals throughout that run.

“We got into three or four good positions in the first half against Bolton but our final ball let us down,” he told the Star. “If the final pass, cross or ball had been better, then our strikers could have scored more goals."

With ten-goal leading scorer Gary Hooper out with a hip injury, only Lucas Joao has managed  to get close to his tally with seven. £10m signing Jordan Rhodes has bagged just four times since his big money switch from Middlesbrough.

“It was the same last Tuesday against Ipswich," said Luhukay. "We got into some dangerous positions down the sides but we didn’t find our colleagues to score and to end the moments in the offensive. We must be more focused to make the right decision.”

Wednesday had just two shots on target at home to Bolton, three less than the visitors and travel to Elland Road to face Leeds this weekend in the Yorkshire derby.

The Verdict

It's the form of Jordan Rhodes that really surprises me.

At Huddersfield and Blackburn, Rhodes proved he was prolific and a real prospect at this level.

Since his switch to Hillsborough he's looked a different player, out of sorts and shot-shy.

Maybe it is the service he's getting, but Hooper managed ten before his Boxing Day injury. Something isn't quite right at Wednesday, only time will tell what that is.
