Sheffield Wednesday boss Jos Luhukay slammed his players after they lost 2-0 to Brentford at Griffin Park yesterday.

The Owls were outplayed against a rampant Bees side, meaning they remain winless in the league this season.

Goals from Neal Maupay and Ollie Watkins secured the points for Dean Smith's men but in reality it should've been many more.

And, Luhukay didn't hold back when analysing the Owls performance to the Sheffield Star, particularly how they struggled after the break.

"In the second half, it says enough that Cammy Dawson was, for me, the best player in our team. He had to react to four, five, six moments. The result was very disappointing."

"We have luck today that the 2-0 wasn't higher. We did not find a way to have good defending and also our offensive positions and quality weren't there today."

"It is in both directions. It isn't the defending alone. When you see what we bring offensively, it was also zero."

Wednesday are back in action on Wednesday when they welcome Millwall to Hillsborough.

The Verdict

These are harsh words from Luhukay but thoroughly deserved as the Yorkshire side were awful on the whole and it's a major worry.

However, the manager also needs to look at himself. The players he have should be performing better and there was no real organisation or fight in the team.

Everyone involved needs to bounce back and they get a chance to put things right when they play Millwall in the week.
