QPR striker Jordan Hugill has taken aim at his former West Ham United teammate and Hammers' midfielder Declan Rice during the R's Christmas do.

The West London side were treated with a trip to the darts over the weekend and Hugill clearly saw it as the perfect time to throw some banter the way of his West Ham mate.

Writing on his display card, given to each spectator to personalise, he wrote simply: "Declan Rice - worst haircut in football."

The picture of the squad was shared on Geoff Cameron's Instagram, with a grinning Hugill clearly rather proud of his own personal message.

The 27-year-old is still owned by the Hammers but has been sent out on loan for the last two seasons now after originally signing from Preston North End in the January transfer window of the 2017/18 season.

Last season he was brought in by Middlesbrough, where he netted just seven goals in 41 appearances, but has refound his form at The Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium, scoring 11 in 21 games already.

After making just three appearances for West Ham, it is unlikely that his future lies at the London Stadium - although it is clear he at least made a few friends during his time there.

The verdict

It is no surprise to see Hugill carrying out a joke like this.

He is clearly a great character who has done wonders for Mark Warburton and his squad in West London.

He will surely remain keen, however, to put his time at West Ham behind him and move on with QPR. The marksman is quality in the Championship and that should not be forgotten.
