Graeme Jones has confirmed that Izzy Brown did in fact tear his hamstring during Luton's 7-0 defeat at Brentford on Saturday.

It's a massive blow for the Hatters' chances of staying in the division and will leave Jones needing a big few weeks from his players in the lead-up to the January transfer window.

On Saturday, Luton recorded their worst defeat since 1966 which would have massively brought confidence down. They've now won just once in their last six and have to stop the rot quickly, otherwise will find themselves in deep trouble.

Brown has been influential so far in the current campaign and has already managed to register six assists in the division which is a very good tally for a side in their position of the table.

Jones has expressed that it's a hamstring tear but Luton will wait to see the full extent of the injury.

Speaking to Luton Today, Jones said: "It’s gone, he's out, that’s a proper hamstring tear, so it doesn't get any better the news.

"I don’t know (how long), we’ll have to get him scanned and see whether it's grade one, grade two, grade three." Can you get 100% on this Luton quiz? Have a go now! The Verdict It really is a massive injury for Luton this season and one that could be all the difference between relegation and staying in the division. Brown is a match winner, and he has that moment of quality that many Hatters have under their belts. He can switch a game with a magical turn or pass. It's something that Jones will now have to look at and assess as he looks to get away from the threat of relegation. The Hatters now have a big month ahead of them, before they look to potentially boost their squad in the January transfer window.
