Middlesbrough manager Jonathan Woodgate has insisted he has every faith in his players despite another loss yesterday.

Boro lost out at Blackburn Rovers as Woodgate awaits his first win of the Championship, but speaking to the Yorkshire post following the game, the Boro manager remained upbeat.

“I thought it was a poor game really from both teams. I thought a draw would have been a fair result. I don’t think any team particularly dominated and like I say, football’s fine margins. They got the penalty and scored, we hit the post late on." Woodgate said.

“It was one of those games, but we need to really grind it out and get that result. You can’t always play well, but we move on and go again on Tuesday. I believe 100 per cent in my players.”

The Teeside outfit were expected by many to be challenging right at the top end of the Championship table this season but their start has indicated they will be anything but contenders come the end of the season.

Manager Woodgate was given the job after Tony Pulis was relieved of his managerial duties towards the end of last season.

Boro chairman Steve Gibson has a reputation of staying patient with his managers, but Woodgate will be desperate to get that first win on the board and soon as the pressure continues to build.
