Former West Bromwich Albion midfielder Jonathan Greening has admitted that he has a good feeling the Baggies will win the Championship title this season.

Greening made over 200 appearances for West Brom and was part of the Albion side that were promoted to the Premier League as champions during the 2007/08 season under Tony Mowbray.

Over a decade on, the current West Brom team have made an excellent start to the Championship season under Slaven Bilic and have put themselves in a brilliant position to win automatic promotion.

The Baggies are currently second in the Championship table and are unbeaten in their last eleven matches.

They are only one goal behind league leaders Leeds United and extended their advantage over third-placed Fulham to twelve points with a 1-1 draw at Wigan Athletic last night.

Greening took to social media today and posted a series of photos from West Brom's 2007/08 promotion campaign on his personal

The former midfielder added a message to Albion fans and backed the Baggies to win the Championship title this season, admitting that there's plenty of similarities between the current side and the team that he was a part of.

The Verdict

Greening could be right. There's still a long way to go in the promotion race, but West Brom have made an excellent start to the season under Bilic and it's already looking like it could be a two-horse race between the Baggies and Leeds for the Championship title.

Bilic has made an instant impact since taking charge at The Hawthorns in the summer and he's done a brilliant job of keeping the players grounded and ensuring that they take things one game at a time.
