Barnsley have struggled to mount any sort of follow-up to last season's play-off finish, with The Tykes currently occupying 22nd place in the Championship table.

The Yorkshire club did start slowly last time out, and they were without a win in their opening seven second-tier outings, however, it took a magnificent turn of events for them to even challenge for the play-offs.

Markus Schopp certainly has the personnel to get out of the rot that they currently find themselves in, and there is still a long time to go in what remains of this season, but the latest update from Oakwell has not left fans too happy.

The club confirmed via social media yesterday afternoon that they are having to close the stadium's West Stand until further notice, following extensive restructure inspections.

Birmingham City faced a similar problem earlier in the season, where the club's Kop and Title stands were closed, regenerating an equally as frustrated response from fans.

Given that fans have missed out on live football for 18 months, fans will quite rightly feel annoyed and disgruntled, however, this is the action that needs to be taken.

Here, we take a look at how Barnsley fans have reacted to the latest news on Twitter...
