Slavisa Jokanovic has dropped a major hint over his Fulham team selection this afternoon, hinting that Aboubakar Kamara will be a useful weapon for his side.

The Fulham boss wouldn’t be drawn on who was in his starting XI, but he was complimentary about Kamara’s ability, indicating that he would feature in some capacity against Aston Villa in this afternoon’s Sky Bet Championship play-off final.

Speaking to West London Sport about Kamara, Jokanovic said: “He is a really strong and fast player and we started working with him in different positions, and step-by-step he started to improve himself.

“He played very well against Derby and he is ready for the game and can be an important weapon for our side.

“I cant say who we are going to start with. It’s going to be a long game and we are going to see.”

Kamara started the play-off semi-final second-leg with Derby County, proving to be a nuisance on the right-wing, as goals from Ryan Sessegnon and Dennis Odoi helped Jokanovic’s side to a 2-0 victory.

The right side of Fulham’s attack has proved to be a problem position this season for Jokanovic, with no player nailing down a starting berth.

Ryan Sessegnon will be expected to line-up on the left, with Aleksandar Mitrovic through the middle.

Fulham face Villa at Wembley at 17:00 this afternoon, with the winner rewarded with a place in the Premier League next season.

The Verdict

Jokanovic wouldn’t admit that Kamara was definitely in his starting XI, but his comments on the forward indicate that he will be starting on the right.

The 23-year-old impressed in the play-off semi-final and is more than deserving of a starting berth against Aston Villa this afternoon.

The right side of attack has caused Fulham problems this season, but in Kamara, they have a player who could cause Villa plenty of problems going forward.
