John Swift has stated that Reading will have to be at their very best against a Brentford side who plays 'really good' football.

The Royals make the short trip to London on Saturday, hoping to carry on their impressive four game unbeaten run under new manager Mark Bowen.

Reading have been very good under the Welshman and have picked up 10 points out of 12 available to the side which has moved them away from potential relegation trouble.

Swift has been a key part to the side this season and was magnificent once again against Luton last weekend, earning himself two assists.

The 24-year-old actually went on loan to Brentford in the 2015-2016 campaign, so will be hoping to get one over on his old side. He's expressed that the Bees are a good side, but the Royals have shown that they can perform the same.

Speaking to Reading's official website, Swift said: “They are a good team and they had a good result before the international break as well.

“So it’s a game that we’ll go into knowing that it’ll be tough. But hopefully we can make it tough for them as well.

“They are a great team on their day and they can play some really good football. But we have shown that we can do the same.”

The Verdict

It's set to be a really interesting game on Saturday with both sides heading into the game on the back of 3-0 victories. There's ambition for Reading now, especially since Bowen has come into the club, and they believe that they can climb out of the bottom half and compete with sides at the top end.

There's still a long way to go in the season, but the Royals have to keep taking each game one by one and picking up results and they'll be one of the better sides in the division. They have the players to challenge teams in the top half but they now have to let their football do the talking.

It should be an entertaining affair on the weekend, in a game which could really go either way.
