John Eustace delivers encouraging Birmingham City injury update ahead of Huddersfield clash

Birmingham City boss John Eustace has confirmed that there are no fresh injury problems ahead of tomorrow night’s game against Huddersfield.

The new boss started his time in charge of Blues with a creditable draw at Luton Town, and he is now preparing for his first game at St. Andrew’s, with the Terriers the visitors.

And, speaking to the club’s media ahead of the fixture, Eustace gave a positive injury update, as he revealed the group came through the opening day game and training with no new problems to report, as he also stated that two players will come back into contention.

No knocks this week, hopefully we will have George Hall and Ryan Stirk back. Two real good young energetic players to boost the squad. Gary Gardner and Nico Gordon are not back yet but are making good progress with the medical department.”

Given the positive result at Kenilworth Road, it’s unlikely that Eustace is going to make many changes to his starting line-up as Blues seek their first win of the campaign.

New signing Krystian Bielik is still a few weeks away from being an option for the boss.

The verdict

This is obviously good news for Birmingham as they don’t have the biggest squad, so any injuries wouldn’t be welcome at all for Eustace.

Despite that, the boss is still working with a decent group, with several experienced players unused substitutes last week, so it’s not like they’re really short.

So, Eustace will be confident going into the Huddersfield game and he will want the team to build on that display against the Hatters.
