It was today revealed that Stoke City were ready to launch a fresh attempt to sign Liverpool winger Harry Wilson on loan for the season, as reported by the Telegraph's John Percy.

Derby County are reportedly in pole position to land the winger after Frank Lampard met with the 21-year-old over the weekend, but Stoke's bid adds a bit more uncertainty into the mix.

Wilson made 13 appearances whilst at loan at Stoke City during the second half of last season, scoring seven goals and assisting four more.

The Liverpool man shone incredibly brightly at the K Com, leading to a fight for his signature this summer.

Celtic and Rangers were also interested in bringing him on board with both clubs' managers having strong connections with Liverpool, but both now appear to be out of the race.

With Gary Rowett leaving the Rams for Stoke earlier in the year there is an added element of bad blood to the attempted Potters bid.
