Joe Worrall sends message praising in-form Nottingham Forest man

Nottingham Forest defender Joe Worrall has praised Tyler Walker, who is on loan with Lincoln City.

Forest secured an impressive third straight win on New Year’s Day as they beat Blackburn 3-2 at the City Ground.

The result for Sabri Lamouchi’s side ensured that they remained in the play-off places, sitting fourth with a game in hand over the chasing sides. Former Aston Villa striker Lewis Grabban was again on the scoresheet, netting an impressive brace to help Forest secure all three points.

Grabban is currently one of few options in the centre forward areas for Lamouchi to select from having seen Spaniard Rafa Mir struggle to adapt following his loan move from Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Lamouchi is said to be keen to explore the option of bringing in another option in the January transfer window, and a recall for Walker has been suggested.

Walker is on loan from the Reds to Lincoln City, and the 23-year-old has 11 League One goals in 23 appearances, with the latest coming in the 2-1 win over Peterborough last time out.

That prompted a tweet from Worrall, who has clearly been impressed with what the striker has been doing in the third tier.

How many league goals did Lewis Grabban score for Nottingham Forest last season?

The verdict

Now, would be the perfect time for Walker to come back in to the fold at Forest, and you have to believe that he could contribute as backup to Grabban.

The 23-year-old still has a point to prove at Forest, and following a superb half to the season – timing could not be better for him to come back to the City Ground and take on the challenge.

One thing is certain – Walker would provide a more energetic and consistent option than Rafa Mir, who has struggled to adapt to life a the club.
