Nottingham Forest snatched a late point to draw 2-2 with a struggling Middlesbrough side at the Riverside Stadium on Monday night.

The Reds weren't at their best by any means, but took the lead in the first-half through Ryan Yates, who drilled into the bottom corner from the edge of the area.

But two goals in quick succession for Boro - courtesy of Rudy Gestede and Lewis Wing - put Jonathan Woodgate's side into an unlikely 2-1 lead heading into the half-time interval.

Forest did start to improve but were playing well below their usual standards, however they did find a late equaliser through Lewis Grabban who expertly flicked home on 86 minutes.

Hardly a vintage performance from the Reds, then, but they dug deep to maintain their impressive away form - Sabri Lamouchi's side have lost only three out of 19 away games in the Championship this term.

Taking to Twitter after the game, Joe Worrall offered a honest verdict on his side's performance, and the defender would have been disappointed after conceding two very cheap and sloppy goals.

Here's what the defender had to say after the game.

Forest now sit eight points off the automatic promotion places, but still six points clear of seventh-placed Bristol City with 10 games left to play in the Championship.

The Verdict

Forest have hardly pulled up any trees this season, and we have seen these kind of performances away from home on more than one occasion.

The Reds hardly created anything up until Joao Carvalho came on, which suggests that he needs to play a lot more under Lamouchi.

On another night, Forest could have found a winner right after Grabban's equaliser, but in the end, a point is nothing to really complain about.
