Nottingham Forest winger Joe Lolley has admitted that training has become more tactical since head coach Sabri Lamouchi took charge at the City Ground.

The Reds have made a positive start to the season under their new head coach and are unbeaten in their last seven matches in all competitions.

Lamouchi took charge at the City Ground earlier this summer - replacing Martin O'Neill - and brought in eleven new players during the transfer window, as he looks to build a team that can challenge for promotion from the Championship.

Lolley, who was a key player for Nottingham Forest last season, has admitted the focus in training has become more technical and tactical since the Frenchman took charge, but has insisted that he enjoys working under him.

“It’s been good working with him,” Lolley said, as quoted by the Nottingham Post.

“From the moment he came in, he told us what he wanted from us – the style of football and the ideas he wants to implement. It was hard work in pre-season.

“We’re getting used to what he wants and demands from us. Every day he is demanding high standards, and I think that’s important.

“Every manager has his own way and his own style. It’s the same here.

“Training is different. There’s probably more emphasis on technical drills and keeping the ball, making sure we don’t give it away sloppily. I would say the focus is more technical and tactical.”

Lolley was an extremely influential playing for Nottingham Forest last season, scoring twelve goals and providing eleven assists in 51 appearances in all competitions.

Nottingham Forest are currently tenth in the Championship table after taking nine points from their opening six matches and will be looking to continue their momentum against top-of-the-table Swansea City after the international break.

The Verdict

I think Lamouchi has done a great job with Nottingham Forest so far this season, especially when you consider that he'd never managed in the Championship before.

Every manager has their own tactics and sometimes it can take time for a group of players to adapt, but I've been really impressed with how Lamouchi has been able to get the best out of the players and with how quickly they've adapted to his style.

The Reds have shown that they can play attacking football, but they also have an ability to grind out results, which is very important in the Championship.

I know we're just a few games into the season, but if Nottingham Forest can continue their momentum, they've got every chance of challenging for the play-offs this season.
