With the transfer window now closed, Tony Mowbray knows exactly which players he has at his disposal for the remainder of the campaign at Sunderland.

Indeed, it is now down to the Black Cats boss and his players to put together a run of form that could see the club go on to achieve a top six finish - a realistic target given they are currently 9th in the Championship.

What a remarkable achievement that would be. However, they must take things game by game.

With an away trip to Millwall this weekend, who currently sit one point and place above Sunderland in the league standings, Mowbray's side have a firm test in sight.

With that in mind, below, we've predicted an XI the Sunderland boss could go with for the match.

Although Mowbray has played with the shape in recent weeks, with Ross Stewart out injured and the club failing to bring in another forward on deadline day, we think a 4-2-3-1 could be the shape the Black Cats boss goes for.

In our XI, the backline goes unchanged from last weekend's FA Cup clash with Fulham, with Anthony Patterson in goal, and a back four in front of him, from left to right of Aji Alese, Dan Ballard, Danny Batth and Trai Hume.

Dan Neil also keeps his place in midfield, as does Edouard Michut, with Sunderland still dealing with the blow that Corry Evans is set to miss the remainder of the season with a knee injury.

Amad Diallo plays in the more advanced central role in this XI, with Jack Clarke out wide on the left, and Patrick Roberts on the right.

Through the middle and making his club debut, Leeds United loanee Joe Gelhardt is tasked with leading the line and scoring the goals in this side.
