Stoke City midfielder Joe Allen has commented on his future at the club, amid speculation linking with a move to the Premier League.

The Telegraph reported on Tuesday afternoon that the 29-year-old is likely to be a target for both West Ham and Watford in the summer.

Allen joined Stoke from Premier League rivals Liverpool for £13million back in 2016 and has been an important player for the club over the past few seasons.

The Wales international committed his future to the club last summer following the team's relegation from the Premier League signing a four-year deal.

Amid the speculation surrounding his future, Allen admitted that he does not know what will happen in the summer and said he is focused on finishing the season with Stoke.

"Honestly, who knows? I don’t know what’s going to happen this summer," Allen said when asked about his future by BBC Radio Stoke.

"People are expecting lots of ins and outs and we’re just going to have wait and see what the summer will bring for everyone really. We’ll go from there.

“Honestly it’s about these next two games, getting everything done and putting our full effort into them.

"For me as well as every individual it’s about speaking to the club and going from there. That’s where I’m at and that’s it, really, at the moment.”

Stoke are currently 16th in the Championship table and face Millwall and Sheffield United in their final two matches of the season.

The Verdict

It's an important summer for Stoke City and manager Nathan Jones has plenty of decision to make regarding the future of some of his players.

The Stoke boss is looking to considerably strengthen his squad in the summer, ahead of next season's promotion push.

It remains to be seen whether Allen would be tempted by a move to the Premier League, but at the moment he is firmly focused on finishing this season on a high with Stoke.
