Queens Park Rangers have confirmed in an official statement on the club website that they have parted ways with manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink.
There had been increasing pressure from a section of the fans, who felt that Hasselbaink’s time was up.
The announcement was made a few hours after QPR battled from 1-0 down to claim a 1-1 draw away at Nottingham Forest on Saturday 5th November.
The Dutchman took over at QPR in December 2015 after leaving his role at then-League One table toppers Burton Albion.
Hasselbaink failed to replicate his Burton form for the Hoops and ended his tenure with a very mediocre record of 14 wins, 18 draws and 15 losses.
The 44-year-old leaves QPR in 17th place with 20 points from the opening 16 matches.
QPR have confirmed that an announcement regarding a search for a new manager will be made in due course with no particular rush because of the international break coming up.
QPR fans – is this the right decision? Who would you like to see as your new manager?
