Jermaine Beckford has stated that Eddie Nketiah is already doing things now that ‘seasoned strikers don’t do naturally’.
Nketiah scored the decisive opening goal on Sunday as the Whites were able to claim victory over Yorkshire rivals Barnsley.
It was an important win for Marcelo Bielsa’s side, as it took them to the top of the Championship table.
The Arsenal loanee is yet to start a game in the Championship for the inform outfit, but has been sensational in the brief cameos he’s made coming off the bench.
He scored the winner against Brentford at Elland Road, whilst also netting against both Salford City and Stoke City in the Carabao Cup.
Beckford believes he’s already showing signs of a top striker, and has backed him to continue his development and be an exciting player for Leeds supporters to watch this season.
Speaking to LUTV, Beckford said: “For me, he is the most dangerous player on the field at the moment.
“He is in a rich vein of form, he’s scoring goals, and his positional sense is brilliant, especially for someone his age as well.
“He is doing things now that seasoned strikers don’t do naturally.
“He’s a young boy and he’s very, very exciting to watch.”
Beckford is spot on about how exciting he is to watch, every time he’s come on the pitch for Leeds it’s been an opportunity that the youngster hasn’t failed to capitalise on.
He offers this Leeds side something a bit different and that could well go on to help them over the course of the season in their quest for Premier League football.
A signing like Nketiah could be the difference between promotion or not, as he can be the man to put away the chances that the Whites so often find themselves squandering.
