Birmingham City winger Jeremie Bela has taken to Twitter to reflect on the club's latest clash with Brentford.

The Blues maintained their ten-game unbeaten run last Saturday by securing a point against a Bees side who are currently flying under the guidance of manager Thomas Frank.

Having been forced to watch on from the sidelines for the majority of Birmingham's victory over Barnsley, Bela was brought back into the club's starting eleven by head coach Pep Clotet for the Brentford fixture.

Whilst the winger initially made a positive start to proceedings, he struggled somewhat in the second-half due to the adverse weather conditions.

Lukas Jutkiewicz gave Birmingham the lead in the 13th minute of the clash as he converted from Gary Gardner's cross.

Ethan Pinnock then netted an equaliser for Brentford who went on to dominate vast sways of possession at St Andrew's.

Following the break, Birmingham goalkeeper Lee Camp made an impressive save from Emiliano Marcondes' effort to keep his side in the game.

The Blues were denied a late penalty by referee Steve Martin who waved away appeals for a handball by Bees defender Pinnock.

Reflecting on this particular fixture on Twitter, Bela posted: "We keep fighting, 10 games unbeaten."

Birmingham will be looking to get back to winning ways in the Championship on Saturday when they face Sheffield Wednesday.

The Verdict

Although the Blues were unable to extend their winning run in all competitions to five games last weekend, they still managed to illustrate some real signs of promise against Brentford.

Therefore, it would not be at all surprising if they end up securing all three points in their upcoming clash with Wednesday who have lost four of their last six in the second-tier.

However, in order to have the best chance of beating the Owls, it could be argued that Birmingham need Bela to be on top-form at St Andrew's.

Having already provided nine direct goal contributions this season, the winger could prove to be the difference on Saturday against Monk's side.
