Jefferson Montero has sent a message to Birmingham City fans on social media after making his debut for the club against Barnsley in the Championship last night.

The 29-year-old came off the bench for the final ten minutes, as the Blues continued their encouraging start to the season with a comfortable 2-0 win at St Andrew's.

The winger finally completed his move to Birmingham last week and joins the Blues on a season-long loan from Championship rivals Swansea City.

The Ecuadorian has now sent a message to Birmingham fans on social media, expressing his joy at making his debut for his new club.

Montero sent the message to fans on his personal

Montero spent the second half of last season on loan at West Bromwich Albion, but struggled to make an impact at the Hawthorns, scoring one goal in four appearances.

The Verdict

Montero could turn out to be a great signing for Birmingham on loan and I'm sure it won't be too long before he becomes a fans' favourite at St Andrew's if he continues to produce performances like that.

Even though he was only on the pitch for just over ten minutes, the tricky winger was full of confidence and proved to be a real handful for the Barnsley defence.

He clearly wasn't in Steve Cooper's plans for Swansea this season, but it looks like he's still more than capable of making an impact in the Championship this season with Birmingham.
