Polish goalkeeper Bartosz Bialkowski has been a revelation since joining Millwall from Ipswich Town last summer.

Bialkowski found himself on the bench for the Lions' season-opening victory over Preston North End, but has played every minute in the league since replacing the injured Frank Fielding.

Only Leeds United's Kiko Casilla has kept more clean sheets (15) than Bialkowski's 12 in the Championship this term, so it's no wonder Gary Rowett was so eager to get the 32-year-old signed up permanently.

Bialkowski has received a great deal of praise in various interviews from teammates this season and Jed Wallace was the latest Millwall player to speak highly of the shotstopper when deciding his career best XI.

Wallace picked the Pole ahead of England's current number one Jordan Pickford, whom he played with at U19 level, before admitting that sometimes he's almost impossible to score past in training.

Wallace told Millwall's official Twitter: "Starting off in goal, it's between a big tall Polish fella that Millwall fans know quite well and then a bit of a shorter English guy that I played with for England U19s in Jordan Pickford.

"On the back of this season and how good he's been, I think I am going to pick Bart. This season I think everyone has seen how important he has been for us - he ruins training on a regular basis, because you just can't score past him."

The Verdict

There's no two ways about it, Bialkowski has been comfortably one of the best goalkeepers in the Championship this season.

A rare mistake against QPR aside, he has been almost faultless, and along with Wallace, will surely not only be in the running to be named Millwall's Player of the Year, but also a contender for the Championship Team of the Season.
