Sheffield United need a real confidence boost ahead of their next league encounter this weekend against Luton Town on Saturday - and that could come in the Carabao Cup this evening,

The Blades are really struggling for form in the Championship having just picked up one point out of a possible 12 and seeing another point slip away from their grasp against Huddersfield Town at the weekend.

Slavisa Jokanovic is enduring a tough time of things but their only victory of the campaign so far has been in the Carabao Cup, with Rhian Brewster's goal being the decider in the first round against Carlisle United.

United will now host Derby County this evening with Wayne Rooney's men in decent form amid the summer turmoil off the pitch at the Rams, but how may the Blades line-up to try and progress to the third round?

It would be easy to go with the strongest available team on paper for Jokanovic, but some of his perceived big guns aren't firing and changes need to be made.

Two youngsters who featured in the Carlisle win were midfielder Zak Brunt and Polish defender Kacper Lopata, and both should be given another opportunity to impress against County.

Jayden Bogle and Luke Freeman are two more players who deserve an opportunity to see if they can stake a claim for a spot in Jokanovic's plans, whilst a man who is being linked with a move away from Bramall Lane in Daniel Jebbison should get a chance from the start.

The Canadian youngsters only appearance so far this season was off the bench against Carlisle and with most of United's strikers misfiring, Jebbison deserves an opportunity to see if he can push himself up the pecking order.
