Leeds United picked up a much-needed three points with a narrow 1-0 win over play-off chasing Bristol City at Elland Road on Saturday.

The scoreline doesn't tell the story though, as Marcelo Bielsa's side were completely dominant throughout the game against Lee Johnson's men.

Luke Ayling's first-half strike proved to be the difference between the two sides on the day though, as Leeds closed the gap on league-leaders West Brom.

The Whites are now four points adrift of the Baggies, but they've extended their lead over third-placed Fulham to three points, after the Cottagers were beaten 3-0 by relegation-threatened Barnsley.

Jean-Kevin Augustin continued to be eased into competitive action for Leeds, as he came on as a 75th minute substitute against the Robins on Saturday.

Augustin took to Instagram following the win, and labelled the victory as a 'perfect day', before praising the Elland Road faithful for their support.

Leeds return to action this weekend, when they take on Reading at Elland Road in a game that they'll be expected to pick up three points from.

But it won't be an easy game by any stretch of the imagination after the Royals comfortably swept aside Sheffield Wednesday by three goals to nil at Hillsborough on Saturday.

The Verdict:

I think he'll have a big role to play in their promotion bid.

Augustin is still adjusting to the demands of the Championship, and it's going to take him a bit of time to settle into his new surroundings at Elland Road.

But he's a player that arrived with real potential, which is something that the Leeds supporters and Marcelo Bielsa will be keen to see in the near future.

I think he could be in line for a start against Reading on Saturday, which could be the perfect opportunity for him to get off the mark for his new club.
