Leeds United are back in form and back in the playoff mix, and fans will be delighted with the resilience Thomas Christiansen and his men have shown in the past few weeks.

A promotion bid is firmly back on track, and the Danish manager will be keen to provide his squad with a festive boost in the new year, when the January transfer window opens for business.

Several new faces are expected, but could departures also be on the cards?

Striker Jay-Roy Grot has failed to settle since his arrival from Holland in the summer, and must surely depart the club on loan in the new year to discover his form.

Should the player leave, Christiansen should target one of this trio as his replacement…

Leonardo Ulloa

The Leicester City striker is likely to become available in January due to a lack of playing time at The King Power Stadium, and Christiansen must make sure he is at the front of the queue for the Argentinian.

Ulloa made his name in Spain with Almeria before coming to England with Brighton, and his form with the Seagulls in the Championship earned him a move to Leicester City, and a subsequent Premier League winners medal.

The 31-year-old is a big, powerful forward with the ability to hold up the ball as well as find the back of the net, characteristics shared with former man Chris Wood.

The player would be the perfect winter signing.

Alfredo Morelos

Christiansen has shown a willingness to bring in young strikers at Elland Road, and could turn his attentions to the in-form Morelos.

The Colombian is on fire in Scottish football with Rangers, and despite only joining the club in the summer from Finnish football, appears ready to make the move south of the border.

Morelos could succeed where Grot has failed however as he has already been provided with an introduction to British football with the Gers, and this could put him in good stead for the second tier.

The exciting South American could score a lot of goals at Elland Road.

Fran Sol

While Grot may have struggled since his move from Holland, Sol appears ready to make the move across The Channel.

The Spaniard joined Willem II in in 2016 from Villarreal, helping the minnows to to safety in his first season at the club.

Impressing already this term with eight goals and three assists, the 25-year-old appears too good for the Tilburg-based side, and deserves a move to the next level.

Christiansen loves a European import, and this one could be the perfect move for the club in the new year.
