Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa looks like he may be disappointed in January, with the Whites set to be priced out of a move for Hull City winger Jarrod Bowen, according to Athletic journalist Phil Hay, as clubs begin to circle around the playmaker who has been a revelation so far this season.

Bowen is believed to be out of the Whites’ price range as they are already tied into a deal for on-loan Wolverhampton Wanderers winger Helder Costa.

Bowen has scored 16 goals in 22 appearances so far in this campaign and there are a number of top flight clubs interested in acquiring him including Newcastle United, Leicester City and West Brom.

So do you feel Bowen is Premier League bound in January? Is it a shame for Leeds?

Sam Rourke

"It would've been a real coup, but this man is only going one way, right to the very top.

"Bowen has enjoyed a sensational season, carrying on from the superb campaign he enjoyed last year and is destined to be playing for a Premier League team sooner rather than later.

"Incredibly effective in the final third, Bowen delivers goals and assists on pretty much a weekly basis and at the age of just 22, the attacker is only going to get better and better.

"Able to operate in various positions in attack, he will offer almost any Premier League team a very productive attacking solution."

Chris Thorpe

"Has to be Premier League bound for me, he has grown too good for the Championship and is most definitely destined for bigger and greater things than slogging it out in mid table.

"Leeds may hold an interest in Bowen, but even they will know that he has ambitions of playing higher, so it may well just be a question of waiting until next summer to attempt to bring him in, once, as expected, they secure promotion themselves.

"Bowen is likely to command a substantial fee and for that reason it would be fair to say that the likes of Leeds may not be able to facilitate such a transfer at present.

"I fully expect Bowen to move on during the summer, with the winger possessing the talent to become an England international one day, it will certainly be fascinating to see where he ends up."

Kris Smith

“It appears as if Bowen is destined to play Premier League football before long and it would be extremely surprising to see him make a move to a fellow Championship club such as Leeds.

“Bowen has been in red-hot form over the past 18 months for the Tigers, scoring 37 goals in 68 league games, showing his ability to play higher up in the footballing ladder.

“While it would be a tremendous coup for Leeds to sign Bowen in January, there is no doubt that clubs in the top flight would be happy to sign him in January.

“Leeds will almost certainly be priced out of any move, having already splashed the cash on Helder Costa and other marquee players, since Marcelo Bielsa’s arrival, so the door is firmly open for a Premier League club to swoop in for him.”
