Swansea City are still adjusting to life back in the Championship, as well as beginning to settle under their new manager, Graham Potter.

During the summer, we watched Stoke City and West Bromwich Albion throw some serious money around following relegation, but that wasn’t the tactic that Swansea adopted, with the Swans seemingly focused on steadying the ship after a disappointing relegation.

Potter deserves credit for the work he’s done at the midpoint of the season, with Swansea playing an attractive brand of football and still standing a chance of play-off football in what is an unpredictable and tight division.

Their rivals are going to strengthen next month, that is an absolute given, and Swansea might be looking to do the same in 2019.

However, there could be departures on the top of that.

Here at FLW, we identify TWO players that we are expecting to depart the Liberty in the New Year…

Bony is a high-profile name at Swansea and one that Potter will be able to manage without.

It seems inevitable that the striker will depart in the January transfer window.

The Ivorian will feel like he’s beyond this level of football and, with his role at Swansea not important, they should look to move him out.

The centre-back isn’t getting the chances he needs and will return to Tottenham.

From there, it is likely he will go elsewhere in the Championship.

He won’t be missed too badly.
