Jamie Paterson sends Swansea City fans message after Fulham defeat

Published

on

Swansea City fell to a 3-1 defeat at Craven Cottage yesterday evening, with Fulham moving to within two points of the Championship summit.

An Aleksandaer Mitrovic brace pushed the West London club into a comfortable two-goal advantage, before Jamie Paterson halved the deficit with an excellent finish with 38 minutes on the clock.

Mitrovic then added his hat-trick, and his tenth of the season, on the stroke of half time, taking his goals expertly to give The Cottagers the edge over Russell Martin’s side.

It was a battling display by the hosts, who ultimately fell a little short against the recently relegated Championship club.

The verdict

Fulham are an extremely strong Championship outfit this season, with Craven Cottage emerging as one of the most difficult places to go early on in this campaign.

However, Swansea can take some positivity from the match, as they did cause the West London outfit a lot of problems.

In the end, it was Mitrovic’s clinical nature that separated the two sides, and whilst they will be disappointed in the way that they conceded, Russell Martin is starting to see a much better Swansea side.

The Swans will continue adapting to the 35-year-old’s style of football, but ultimately, they are heading in the right direction.
