James Milner shares nostalgic Leeds United memory that fans will love to see

Liverpool’s James Milner may have left Leeds United back in 2004 but the midfielder clearly has a soft spot for his former club.

The 32-year-old came through the ranks at Elland Road and was one of the brightest talents to come through at the Yorkshire club in years.

Such was his ability, Milner was handed his debut as a 16-year-old, which made him the second youngest player to play in the Premier League.

And, he took to Instagram to share an image of himself in the Whites side for that match, which came this week 16 years ago.

Back then, the teenager came on for the final six minutes to help Leeds to a 4-3 win at West Ham United. Just a month later, Milner would go on to score, which made him the youngest Premier League scorer at the time.

Unfortunately for the Whites, Milner would only have one more season with his boyhood club before he was sold on to Newcastle United.

However, he clearly remembers his time with the club fondly, as this is the latest post he has made in connection with his former side.

The Verdict

Leeds fans will enjoy seeing this message from Milner and they will look back with pleasure at his time with the club.

It clearly meant a lot for the midfielder to feature for his local club and everyone should be delighted with the career he has gone on to have.

Some fans will be hoping he could end his career at Elland Road, with Marcelo Bielsa’s side pushing for promotion.
