The verdict

Re-signing Garner is huge for Nottingham Forest and the transfer should potentially inject some positivity around the City Ground after a very challenging start to the Championship campaign for the Reds.

The concern would have been that after losing their first four matches in the league, Nottingham Forest might have been unable to convince the midfielder to re-sign for them and be part of a side that might struggle in the English second tier this term.

However, Garner would have seen the impact that he made on Nottingham Forest last season with his arrival in the January window. Over the course of a full season the 20-year-old might be able to get the Reds playing well enough to recover their form and push up towards the top half of the table.

Garner is going to get regular game time with Nottingham Forest and the midfielder is likely to be relied upon to take a lot of responsibility in possession and try and make things happen for them. That should mean that the 20-year-old gets a lot out of his latest loan spell away from Manchester United.
