Brennan Johnson's season just keeps on getting better and better, with the Nottingham Forest youngster scoring his first professional hat-trick for Lincoln City last night.

Johnson has played an influential role in helping the Imps fight for promotion in League One this season, after joining them on loan from Forest in the summer.

The Wales international made his debut for the national team earlier this season, and has now scored 12 goals in all competitions for City this term.

Last night, an 11-minute hat-trick secured a huge 4-0 home win over MK Dons for City.

His first two goals came from close-range, and his third was slotted in from the penalty spot after being told to retake it due to encroachment.

Johnson will be hoping to keep up this form and end this season strongly, and Chris Hughton will then take a good look at him in pre-season training.

Plenty of Forest players took to Instagram last night to congratulate Johnson, including the likes of James Garner, Loic Mbe Soh and Lyle Taylor.

The Verdict

Johnson just keeps on getting better and better, and naturally, plenty of Forest fans are excited to see him next season.

It will be interesting to see where he fits in having played in more of a wider role for large parts of this season, but playing as a number 10 last night.

Forest need that spark from midfield, and I can't wait to see how he gets on in 2021/22.
