Jake Buxton signs new three year deal

Derby County have announced that defender Jake Buxton has signed a new three year deal with the Rams.
Buxton has been at Derby since 2009, when Nigel Clough signed him from Burton Albion on a free transfer and his impressive form last season meant he has earned a new deal at the Ipro Stadium.
His current deal ran out next summer, so manager Steve McClaren moved quickly in getting the experienced defender signed up. The deal will run to the summer of 2017.
Steve McClaren told the official site, “It’s great news that Jake has signed a new contract.
“He has improved his game and his performances last season were excellent.
“His leadership both on and off the field in the dressing room and around the place has been spot on.”
The 29 year old made 52 appearances last season and came third in the fans player of the season vote as the Rams missed out on Play Off glory.
Buxton’s new deal follows the news that Jeff Hendrick and Craig Forsyth both signed new four year deals last week.
