Darren Moore has been choosing to play Brown in a left-wing position so far this season, rather than at left-back where he also comfortable of performing. The 22-year-old started his second league game for the Owls last weekend against Rotherham United and he played an important role in their derby day triumph.

Sheffield Wednesday gave the chance for Brown to interact with supporters on their official Twitter account on Thursday morning. The 22-year-old was asked a range of questions including one on what it is like to play in front of the Owls’ supporters at Hillsborough.

Brown issued a glowing response and heaped praise on Sheffield Wednesday’s supporters for the atmosphere that they manage to create at Hillsborough.

The verdict

The signing of Brown appears to have been a very smart one by Sheffield Wednesday this summer with the 22-year-old a player that has the qualities that they need for their promotion push this term.

Brown seems to be the sort of character that you would want to have around the dressing room and the 22-year-old will have done a lot to win over the adulation of supporters with these comments today.

Hillsborough is one of the best stadiums in League One for sure and there are few grounds across the country that can generate the sort of atmosphere that the Owls do when they are at their best.

It was vital this season that Sheffield Wednesday had more players on the field that supporters could get behind in terms of having the feeling that they were giving their all for the club on the field.

Moore has done an excellent job in identifying such players and Brown is just one of the new arrivals that fits in with that philosophy very well.

The 22-year-old knows he has a battle on his hands to get into Sheffield Wednesday’s team in the league week in week out and that will be driving him on to deliver quality performances.
