Corey Blackett-Taylor has signed a contract extension with Charlton Athletic until the summer of 2023, the club has announced.

The 24-year-old joined on a deal until January having been unattached this summer after leaving Tranmere Rovers. Blackett-Taylor has shown his quality in glimpses since signing for the Addicks, predominantly used as an impact substitute, but is a valued member of Johnnie Jackson's squad.

The Addicks have picked up ten points from their last four league games conceding only once, seeing them climb away from the relegation and cause calls for Jackson to be given the manager role on a permanent basis. New deals for Deji Elerewe and now Blackett-Taylor have lifted the mood around the club as they look to climb the League One table.

Charlton are expected to welcome a crowd of over 25,500 to The Valley on Saturday as they welcome the visit of league leaders Plymouth Argyle with owner Thomas Sandgaard granting season ticket holders three free tickets to bring friends and family to watch the game.

The gap between Charlton and the top six is still a hefty nine points but it is a chasm that with Blackett-Taylor fully firing the supporters will believe the Addicks can overcome.
