Marcelo Bielsa's Leeds United are showing the sort of form that will see them win promotion back to the Premier League, but a growing injury list could potentially derail that promotion bid.

The likes of Patrick Bamford, Luke Ayling and Gaetano Berardi are all sidelined which will see Bielsa's side be short of options in his squad heading into a hectic festive period.

The Leeds boss is surely to be tempted to add some depth to his squad in January when the transfer window reopens.

Leeds could be one player away from finding the missing piece in their jigsaw this season, with a promising Manchester City youngster potentially being available in January.

Brahim Diaz has been hugely impressive in his cameo appearances for Pep Guardiola's side this season and is earning raving reviews about his potential going forward.

The young Spaniard has made 14 appearances in total across a three-year-spell in the Manchester City first-team.

He has scored twice in three appearances this season for the title hopefuls and he will be keen to prove himself on a more regular basis for the rest of the season.

But with game time being limited at Manchester City this season, Diaz should be considering short-term options elsewhere and a loan switch to the Championship could be the perfect move for his development.

Marcelo Bielsa would be sure to get the very best out of Diaz if he is to register his interest in bringing the young attacking midfielder to Elland Road.

The 19-year-old would add further attacking options and some much-needed creativity to the Leeds side, to help take the weight off Pablo Hernandez's shoulders to provide the creative spark for the promotion chasing Whites.

If Bielsa can help Diaz discover his best form, then he would be sure to play a vital role as they aim for a return to the Premier League.
